Là việc sản xuất và chuyển một mặt hàng tại một thời điểm (hoặc một loạt  mặt hàng nhỏ và nhất quán) thông qua một loạt các bước xử lý liên tục nhất  có thể mà không bị gián đoạn, với mỗi bước chỉ làm những gì được yêu cầu  ở bước tiếp theo. Producing and moving one item at a time (or a small and consistent batch of  items) through a series of processing steps as continuously as possible  without interruption, with each step making just what is requested by the next  step. One-piece flow is generally more efficient, limits the amount of work in  process (WIP), and prevents bottlenecks. Achieving this method helps  manufacturers achieve true just-in-time manufacturing.
